- Art Patrol
Art Patrol Volunteers provide friendly support in the gallery or exhibit area while staff members are away for lunch or dinner breaks. Volunteers help create a welcoming experience for visitors, assist with non-cash sales, and help protect the artwork by ensuring it is handled respectfully.
- Rodeo Hospitality Volunteer (MUST BE 18+)
Rodeo Hospitality Volunteers play an important role in supporting the hardworking cowboys and rodeo personnel by helping provide a welcoming dining experience before the evening rodeo. Volunteers assist with serving approximately 100–150 guests by ensuring the hospitality area remains clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the meal service.
- Queen Competition Greeter
The Queen Competition Greeter is the first friendly face guests encounter as they arrive for the New Mexico State Fair Queen Competition. This volunteer helps create a welcoming and organized atmosphere by greeting attendees, providing basic event information, and assisting with guest flow before and during the event.
- Games & Guest Services (MUST BE 21+)
The Games & Guest Services Volunteer helps create a welcoming, enjoyable experience for guests by overseeing recreational game areas and assisting with basic event operations in our Speakeasy. Perform light bussing duties, including collecting and returning used glassware to designated areas.
- Photographer
The Photographer Volunteer helps protect and monitor displayed vehicles while creating a positive and engaging experience for guests. Assist guests who would like photos taken and organize photo lines or waiting areas when needed.
- Sensory Station Monitor
The Sensory Station Volunteer provides a welcoming, supportive space for fairgoers of all ages and abilities who may benefit from a calm environment during their visit. Monitor the Sensory Station to help maintain a safe, calm, and organized environment. Coordinate with staff to take lunch breaks as needed.
- Parking & Ticket Booth
Assist gate staff with crowd control, parking, and help at ticket booths for the 2026 New Mexico State Fair! You will be assigned a position at either a parking lot or an entry gate. Parking Assistants will work with Fair staff to direct entrants to secure parking spots. Volunteers who are placed at entry gates will assist Fairgoers on correct admission lines for ticket holders and those needing to purchase tickets.
Volunteers receive free parking at the Fair during their shift, two admission tickets to the Fair, water throughout the shift, and a free t-shirt identifying them as a New Mexico State Fair volunteer.
